iOS 6 vs Android 4.1 Jellybean : Features

Apple iOS 6 Vs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean are among the best mobile OS upgrades. When it comes to features, they are the best and come with numerous improvements over their previous features

Global mobile market is set to witness a fierce clash between Apple iOS 6 and Google’s Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. With the release of iOS 6-based iPhone 5, Apple has really posed a tough challenge to Google’s fresh Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Google premiered the firmware on its first tablet the Nexus 7 sometime back. The update is soon to hit Samsung’s Galaxy S3, HTC One X and other high-end Android phones.

Interface: The operating systems have different interfaces. The new iOS keeps its typical interface. Apple hasn’t brought in more changes to the platform. It looks almost like its precursor except for some slight finishing work. Android Jelly Bean has a smart and freshly looking user interface. It is customized for both tablets and smartphones alike.

Application Store: There are too many apps available on both App Store for iOS 6 and Google Play for Android. The former beats the latter with a difference of over a million apps. But, that number has no value because both app stores contain lots of straight-up garbage.
Apple has a very strict policy in apps review and approval so that it has more quality apps. Meanwhile, Google has an open policy and it allows third party developers post their app in Google Play. Both the app stores have good interface and users can easily download apps from them.

Maps: Apple has skipped Google Maps and launched its own Maps app on iOS 6. The Cupertino tech maker has been working on its own web map service for a while. But, unluckily it is a large failure as it has too many bugs, mislabeling and others. Analysts have blamed Apple for hurrying to launch its Maps app on iOS 6 before it is totally ready for mainstream.
Android Jelly Bean, on the other hand, comes with the revamped Google Maps. The mapping service from Google has been known as the best of its kind on web. Google Maps is such a superb service that it attaches many new things like the Streetview location hunting and other services.

Hardware: Both iOS and Jelly Bean are meant for all types of handhelds devices, which mainly include smartphone, tablet and portable music player. The new iOS has now come to light on iPhone and it may soon appear on iPad and iPod touch. Similarly, Jelly Bean, which kicked off a tablet, will come for smartphones like Galaxy S3, Galaxy Note 2, HTC One X and more. But, the major difference the software platforms make is that the former is only for Apple products, whereas Jelly Bean is free for all tech makers to use in their products.

Cloud Storage: Apple’s firmware has the famous iCloud service to store data. The iOS 6-based devices will sync the content automatically with the cloud storage service. So you can access your content (image, docs, contact or calendar) from any iOS and Mac device from anywhere in the world. Android Jelly Bean has this feature in Google Drive, an exclusive cloud storage service from the Mountain View web giant. Google also offers cloud-based Office package and some other software items.

Voice Search: Apple has integrated a revamped Siri voice assistant app to iOS 6. Siri now comes for iPad also with the update. Earlier, it was only available on iPhone 4S. Moreover, Apple has solved many of Siri’s notorious glitches like the lack of better language support and more. When it comes to Android, it has Google’s new Google Now service for many voice based activities. You can now search web and talk to the phone thanks to the service. Yet, Apple’s Siri is reviewed as the best of its kind in the world.

For the full review of the battle, Stay tuned.
